My c4 that was in my 83 mustang did that. I just figured it was dieing lol. It go swapped for an aod. I still have it, the c4 waiting for a rebuild one day.

A stock C4 does seem to be in a bit of a hurry to get into Third, but at least it comes back out of it easily enough when the kickdown rod is actuated. And yes, mine does have the weird "surge" in the 2-3 shift, though the 1-2 shift is pretty decent.2012 Mazda5 Touring | Finally working on the LTD again!
