It doesn't matter a whole lot what they are, as long as they're snug. The rubber will wear out faster than poly, but it won't make a huge difference on something as small as a car.

I found a place locally to get another Moog sway bar link, but CarQuest said they don't stock 'em anymore for some reason. Oh well, 16 bucks and it'll be here tomorrow

all done! from the looks of it, i'm going to be doing ball joints soon since that boot is cracked on the top one
Hit it with the grease gun every couple of oil changes and keep it packed with grease, it'll last a lot longer than you might expect.
When my caliper siezed up some 8 years ago, it melted part of the boot. Been keeping it well greased and its still good.

i think the ball joints are shot. I felt some play in the wheel when i was pulling on it from the top and bottom

that's usually a sign of worn wheel bearings. Take the wheel off so you can see what part is wiggling. If it's the rotor/hub assembly only... it's wheel bearings. If it's the whole works to the control arms... yeah... ball joints.

When you wiggle the wheel for the ball joints, the suspension must be loaded. And yes, the wheel bearings must be properly adjusted.

Well It's when you ware your breaks to the metal and small metal particles get stuck on every thing mags, the side of the car and if its on there long enough it embeds into the paint and rusts from there. This happened to me and the only way I got it off was using clay bar.

No its not that. This car's previous owner put dexcool in it. So it had a coolant explosion and its everywhere.

Did you tighten the links with the wheels on the car? When you don't do that and you load it up, they become loose. At least that's what mine did.
