Well, I know the kickdown connection on the throttle body is vertical, where the connection on the carb is horizontal. Just as well which way does the kickdown move? I think the efi pulls forward while the carb pushes rearward. If they go the same way, I may be able to cobble the cable from the aod or, like you said, add a peice to the c4 bar.

Even better - I found this - the early Bronco guys do this swap:

The kickdown rod just needs to go in a generally backwards direction, shouldn't matter in the least which direction your throttle shaft body pivots so long as you can get the rod to go backward. In the case of an EFI throttle body in a standard Vic configuration, with the cable bracket on the rear of the EGR spacer and the throttle cable pulling backwards on the outboard side of the throttle lever, I'm imagining something along the lines of the Edelbrock kickdown adapter they sell for use with Performer carbs: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EDL-1483/ I'll have to dig up pictures of the one I bought, but basically it's got a pivoting lever thing that moves independently of the throttle lever until it hits an adjustment screw, at which point the kickdown rod is shoved backward and the transmission downshifts.

As I mentioned, the other obvious option would be a dedicated C4 cable kickdown such as these: http://www.summitracing.com/search/T...?Ns=Rank%7cAsc I know nothing about how these work, so I have no idea whether it's convenient or possible to produce one by starting with an AOD TV cable. Possibly you could attempt to study how the C4 cable kits actually work and see if you can replicate it? It certainly would have its advantages to start with a stock part that attaches to a factory provision on the factory throttle lever, even though the business end is bound to get more than a little bit interesting.

EDIT: Blast it, I must not have thought the throttle adapter was very important, because here are the only two pictures of it I've found so far. Neither is really all that enlightening.
