Yes, I'll definitely need something longer. Just curious as to what those who have done the swap are using.

Thanks, exactly what I was looking for. Looks like black is what I need,

Would love too, hate being the guinea pig. Someone else can first so I can copy them.

Turned an old thick rubber floor mat into a keep-water-and-shit-out cover, just need to rivet it down.
Also got my modded 140 speedo in, ditched the ugly after market radio for a genuine Ford unit, and installed all the dash trim.

Fox mustangs, t-birds and cougars use(what I'll call) a trans tunnel adapter...t-birds/cougars only on floor shift auto or 5-speed cars...take the console and carpet up and there are a few tiny sheet metal screws holding it to the tunnel with seam sealer between the tunnel and this adapter piece, a putty knife helps get it apart...then you can use a fox-body lower shift seal which are pretty cheap from pretty much any mustang parts supplier....only problem is, if you don't put a center console in your car it may look a little ugly because I doubt the factory carpet will fit over it without being sectioned...that's what I'm doing when I get around to doing mine sometime in late spring...If you want, I can try to post a pic of the actual piece I'm talking about.

            Good luck,
            Don

Oh god yes! I think that may be the first interior in a Crown Vic (not other panther) I'd swap mine out for. It just looks so right.

waiting for install: 3.27's, Poly bushings, boxed rear arms, 2500 stall converter, ported e7's, etc

you did a great job, it looks like it belongs there. if I had a second Panther, a manual swap might be in the works.

you ought to take the car to a scale.

I doubt it was intentional, but I also like the little detail that this appears to be a 2 person front seat. It eliminates the subtle awkwardness of having a stick right where the knees of one of the passengers could be.

Those are Towncar Signature blue leather seats. They're 3 person if you flip the armrest up, like they are in the pics. It would be awful damn uncomfortable for the middle person since the seat is shaped the way it is, but you can stick someone up there.

Looks good, though I'd personally want a console or something around the shifter. I really think thats why I've never taken to the idea of a 5 speed in these. It just doesn't quite look like it belongs there.

Some early model fox mustangs came with an option to delete the center console. What was left was a neat trim piece to house the shifter guts.

I like the way it looks either way. Damn cool.

Console delete...well part of it..the whole shebang consists of an ebrake cover in addition to an ash tray that hangs below the radio.
