Actually I digress, the manual has NO info on how much tranny fluid to put in. Just a hyphen!

get 13 quarts because some may take 12... some may take 12.5. You'll need more if you have a transmission cooler out front as well as the regular one in the radiator.

I have no clue about putting friction modifier in trans. If you use MercV, it has the modifier in it already.

You don't need any modifiers if you use Mercon V. In fact, manual states NOT to use any additives.Nick

I was thinking he was using the "stock" tranny fluid which is why I mentioned the rear end friction fighter. Both of you are correct that if Mercon V is used, NO additional "help" is required!!!

I got castrol mercon V. I am good
No modifiers for me.
Where is this hole for the plug to release the fluid from the trorque converter???
Any other special tools I need fo rthis job?
In addition , the kit i have came with a rubber gasket. Do I need glue or silicone to put on the rubber gasket?
Also, that smaller gasket, do i need to put anything on that in terms of sealant"To Find yourself, you must first lose yourself"

Friction modifiers were for Mercon in the clutched torque converter AODE and 4R70w transmissions that had converter shudder problems. Mercon V fixed that, and the AOD doesn't have that sort of design anyway. No need for that in an AOD transmission.
rubber gaskets generally go on dry. The one inside also goes on dry.
torque converter access plate is on the front of the transmission bellhouse. The lower part unbolts to give access to the converter. Its fairly large and pretty hard to miss.
