Radio replacement - do these cars have separate amps?

I'm looking at the wiring diagram for our cars in the service manual, and it looks like my car MIGHT have an amp, back behind the rear seatback. The manual talks about two different types of radio options available. If the factory (OEM) unit needs an external amp to power it, that must mean its speaker outputs are low level outputs. But the new head unit I bought, a JVC KDR320, has amp built in (so has high level outputs). It does have RCA pre-outs. So will it still work with my car's wiring, or do i need to run separate wiring from my new unit directly to each speaker?

    Thanks

if it has premium sound, it has an amp
does the aftermarket head unit have front and rear rca's? you will prob have to make an adaptor if you want to use the factory amp

they do make amp bypass plugs, but the factory amps in the later boxes were actually decent.

Actually, I'd prefer to just eliminate the factory amp altogether, but will that work, since all the wires from the OEM head unit go back to the amp (if i have one). I don't know whether I have the 'EPR' or the 'ESC' unit. One has an amp, the other does not. My new unit has enough power to push the front/rear factory speakers and doesn't need the factory amp.

oops thought u wanted to keep it......in that case, you can get an amp bypass plug from a stereo shop

do you know if you need a radio installation kit for a standard DIN unit? I bought the Metra ibr-509fd and now looking at the JVC unit, it may just work without the kit.

for the standard din, just use the included sleeve that the aftermarket radio comes with and fit it in the hole before installing the radio.
