    Large case alternator bracket.

I need one for my 85 LTC. Anyone have a line on one or can tell me the model and year that I need to look for to get one off of? I currently have the old one jury rigged to hold the new 3g in place. Its solid but I want a more permanent solution.

cop cars usually had that, or boxes with instaclear. box police cars are probably your best bet though. instaclear was pretty rare.

You want the adjuster bracket from a car that has the 100amp alternator option. Look for a box with an external regulator and an alternator that looks nothing like the 2G you are replacing. Most fleet cars, some civilian, and any that had the heated windshield option.

If you use your 2G pulley on the 3G you can use the stock belt.

            Alex.

I actually have the 3g pulley on and the belt has more than enough slack.

Thanks, I'll be waiting a bit. If someone else wants it, go for it.

I ended up grinding the bottom of the slot on the adjuster bracket a little to allow the bolt to pass through. Grinded the bottom bracket a bit in a couple spots to allow the large case 3G to pivot enough to clear the belt. The K060505 (I think that's the number) just barely reaches over the pulley though. I'll get a pic in a few days when I have access to a digital camera.

I didn't even have to do all that for my quick and dirty jerry rig I have the left hole of the bracket in the stud. I put a nut on first to push it out. The right hole side sits on top of the right stud and I had no problem putting the belt on I have lots of space for that so I didn't have to do anything to the bottom bracket. Its nice and secure for a Jerry rig, lol.
