    Poll: Slicktop Options

The vinyl is taking a dump on my LTD. It must come off this spring, hopefully with a completely repaint (in brown yay!). It's a 1/2 vinyl top.

I have some options here I am considering and I'd like others opinions. The "crown" moulding is the chrome band that runs across the middle of the roof down between the two doors.

Option A: Complete '79-'87 Style Slicktop style, no "Crown" moulding, no C-pillar moulding, Anodized Aluminum rear window trim

Option B: Complete '88-'91 Style, no "Crown" moulding, Anodized Aluminum C-Pillar Trim and Rear Window Trim

Option C: Option B with a "Crown" moulding

Right now I am torn mostly between Option B and C. I'd like to keep the crown, after all it is a "Crown Victoria." I also like the looks of the '88-'91 trim on the C-Pillar, but together with the crown it might be too much. I'm also considering adding coach lamps, I saw an rare '87 CV (in brown too!) with them and it was just cool.

Let me know what you think.

Option B, I like the C pillar belt trim, no crown tho. It wouldnt look good on a slick top. I might keep my coach lights on the B pillar when I do mine cause it looks cool when they are lit up.

If you could possibly get some photoshopped pics of the options I could look at them and tell you which I think would look better. I'm sure that would help everyone else out also.

Mine is the fully stripped down plain jane base model. I sont think they came with any less trim. I did have the bump strip on the door and the rocker trim but it has been removed.

I'm thinking a slicktop with the chrome crown would look retarded. Option A all the way.

I'm thinking you guys are right. I think I have eliminated option C, it would be too much junk on there. Now I'm torn between A and B...

I go ahead and pick up the trim for the C-Pillar because it's cheap ($1 a peice usually). Then I mock things up and see.

                  Keep those pictures coming.

My slicktop looks the same as dueces. I'd go with that, totally smooth, nothing else, with the little crown down near the bottom of the piller.

The only thing I don't like about boxes is they came with WAY too much junk on top. Vynil is cool if it's an option you wanted specifically, but it sucks to be stuck with it. The way I see it, it's like this - you have an opprotunity to drive a "rare" slicktop, go slick ALL the way. It will = teh win.

Vinyl tops were an option for base model CV's. It's listed as one one mine, and I've seen one without.

please do not desecrate your car by putting that ugly 88-91 ends on there.

round corners on a square box is not cool

Go complete slicktop, like Deuce's Vic. You have an older Vic which looks great slicktop. The newer boxes don't look as good slicktop.
