Here's what I'm using instead of the hoodscoop. I bought this on Ebay.

Nice Are you gonna bolt it to the hood (seen it done), or cut the hood for it? Also since you're not using that hood scoop, would you be intersted in selling it?

The scoop is going on the carb and I'm cutting a hole in the hood.

The Boss scoop is going on the truck in my signature. Nothing says high horsepower like a big hood scoop on a dually truck!!

I paid $100 for it and the new filter set up and linkage kit will run me about $40. But for a new one it's $250-$275.

I'm painting the scoop black to match the rest of the car. I'm just trying to decide if I should paint the butterflies black or Ford blue.

Keep em red, or go with some of the metalcast stuff...

Nope on the red. I feel the same thing about red as I do about chrome.

Now thw Blue Metalcast on the butterflies would look cool. I want the scoop black to match the body and the black Ford racing aluminum valvecovers I'll be running. I'm painting the intake and the rest of the engine Ford blue.

Now I wouldn't mind a bright metallic blue on the butterflies. Maybe I should paint them black and spray a blue letter on each butterfly to spell out LTD. Or Blue butterflies with black letters.

                  Now that would look badass.

                  DO it.

If I do the lettering I'll have to find some cool letter stencils or masks so it doesn't look like ass!! What do you think? Heavy block letters or the script like on a LTD emblem??

                      Block print.

                      Use the "IMPACT" font.

I'm going to paint LTD on the Butterflies. I'm going to have GMN on the rear window.

After looking at that pic you posted I think a black scoop with black butterflies will look cool. I'll paint the LTD letters a bright Ford blue.:headbang:

Now that you are not going to run the boss scoop on your LTD, i can run one on mine, and not copy you, just steal your idea.
