No changing of tray on my end. I just made it work. First of all the battery that I have installed is bigger than stock so I had to make room for it in the first place which helps keep it snug already. Second, I curled over the stock piece of metal, that houses that stupid j hook with the threaded top to hold down the battery, so that it would fit snug against the aforementioned ridge. Then all I did was make a L bracket that bolted onto the stud for the body mount then marked the position for the wedge..drilled for the bolt and bolted it on. The wedge pushes again the battery ridge via the stiff steel plate that I have bolted to the body mount stud.

Oh, like the GM style that grabs the lip thingy at the bottom of the battery? I've also seen it on a newish Asian crossover vehicle, but never noticed it if I've been under the hood of a Ford with one.

ok... then I may have to rob a suv/truck/newer car of the whole works since the metal bracket in my 88 is pretty well gone. I may just leave the redneck riggin as is until I need another battery for that one. The mark has the stock hook holes in good shape so I might be able to put a wedgie (*chuckle*) in it.

Pretty much any modern vehicle has one, I think even my Tempo has that setup. They also love to corrode really bad, and then the hold down bolt breaks when it's time to remove the battery.

          Still, looks good!

I need to take a look at where my J hooks fasten to. All that is left holding the battery is a flat portion of the inner fender.

Started installing the amp pull switch...had it all in place and everything was working....fuckin' indicator light lost its magic smoke....I tore everything out and put it back to stock and romped on the car to punish it.

You do the same thing I do to my S-10 when it acts up. Every once in a while it will randomly stall on me cause I didn't give it enough gas in first (really S-10, first?). So when I get it started again I wind it out in first to give it the gas it requires:boxing: Stupid S-10!
