Dang, both my '90s still have R12 in them and work. Well, not the dead one now I guess, but it did. Not looking forward to retrofit but it'll have to come sooner or later I guess.

What kit are you talking about? I kind of doubt I could get mine converted and up and running before summer hits. It has zero pressure left.—John

Yeah I think the fittings literally screw on to the old ones right? Then you put some funky oil in it and charge up with 134. Called a "dirty conversion" by the mechanic folk but apparently it works. I'm told you can do it right by changing a whole shit-ton of other stuff but generally the dirty way works so screw it. Gonna be a while before I do that shit because I have a friend with a BIG can of R12 and he owes me a favor or 2.

Yeah, exactly.
The way I had our TC's done was to take it to a shop and let them do it haha. What they did was evac the system, replace the receiver/drier, evac it again and then recharge with 134a. Been working great ever since, well, my car blew up the compressor last year but then again it has zero pressure when I got it and an old guy owned it. You know how old people are about certain things. According to him, he never used it unless his wife complained and when I bought the car she had been in the ground for 12 or some years.1985 LTD Crown Victoria - SOLD

Tightened this upper hose and stopped a small leak.
How can I flush and change out the PS fluid?

Are use the turkey baster method to get out as much as I could. This is what I got out and the other is what is going in for reference.

Boxes want Type F ATF for power steering. Power steering fluid is actually too thin for them.

I put reman new Motorcraft pumps on the 89 and 90 - both I filled with Mercon V. Both are very quiet especially for a Ford power steering system.-Nick M.
