    steering wheel adapter kit

    whoever has an aftermarket steering wheel in their 79-89 box, can you give me a number for the install kit you used? advance gave me the wrong fucking one...

    Mine is on a quick release. so it was welded to the shaft. NateHawk i know has an aftermarket wheel.

      79-83 is different from 84+... Should be a 3289. The wheel you are using makes a difference also...

        I think that's what I have, 3289...I know it ends in 89. The problem isnt the wheel, it's the hub...it's got splines and I don't have a splined shaft. :nonono: Fucking POS cars

          So you have the early model hub adapter...Can't you return it and look at the new one before you buy it?

                  I thought they used the splined shaft up to and including the '84 year. Go pull a steering column out of a car in a junkyard. Then you can use your adaptor. Well, that'd be the roundabout way of doing it.

                  They list a 4282 for '79-'82, 3290 for '83's, and a 3289 for '84-'91. Take it back and make sure it wasn't packaged wrong.

                    '84-'91 wouldn't be right anyway, '84 still has the horn on the turn signal lever.

                      Turns out I had the right number, just someone had the wrong kit in the box! So now I finally have a new steering wheel in my '89, thanks for helpin me Scott..

                        1986 lincoln towncar signature series. 5.0 HO with thumper performance ported e7 heads, 1.7 roller rockers, warm air intake, 65mm throttle body, 1/2" intake spacer, ported intakes, 3.73 rear with trac lock, 98-02 front brake conversion, 92-97 rear disc conversion, 1" rear swaybar, 1 3/16" front swaybar, 16" wheels and tires, loud ass stereo system, badass cb, best time to date 15.94 at 87 mph. lots of mods in the works 221.8 rwhp 278 rwt
