My '83's column isn't splined. I used to have a wheel from an '88 mustang in there. Just leave the horn wiring out for the old style column and it works well.

When i put the grant wheel in my 85, i wanted to keep the horn,so i went to the junkyard and pulled a turn signal lever assembly out of a 84 town car. Just had to move one wire in the block.
