Knowing Tom, he probably picked it up while in California. The reason you don't seen them with out rear defrost, Derek, is because of where we live....
Also, if I'm not mistaken, the vac line at the intake connects to a much larger barb than at the MAP. If you got a line to fit the MAP it will be way...

My first 2 cars, actually I did not own them my parents did, when I was in high school:
1987 Crown Victoria - The grey POS (R.I.P.), nickname given by my dad inspired by the original Men In Black movie where Will Smith referred to the black Crown Vic as a Ford POS
1988 Crown Victoria station wagon - The Shagin Wagon (R.I.P.), nickname given by my high school class mates
And the 4 that I now own:
1989 Mercury Grand Marquis GS 50th Anniversary Edition - Had this one since 2003, took it off the road October 2012 when I swapped the trans with The Ice Car. It was my DD until the day I swapped the trans.
1991 Mercury Grand Marquis GS - The Ice Car - Had this one since October 2012, it sat in some guys barn for 6 years before I bought it, practically everything on it was stock from the factory. It was my DD from October 2012 - March 2016 when it became the winter DD until March 2020. Will be the parts car.
1991 Mercury Grand Marquis LS - The Scab. Bought March of 2016. It's quite rough. The Summer DD, not sure if it will continue DD duty after purchasing the '98 MGM LS.
1998 Mercury Grand Marquis LS. No Rust. Bought February 29, 2020.
The original purchase price for the first 5 combined was $2,600. A bit less than the purchase price of the '98 MGM LS on its own.
'87 LTD CV - $500
'88 LTD CV CS - $700
'89 MGM GS - $200
'91 MGM GS - $500
'91 MGM LS - $700
