So maybe I'm losing my mind here but I swear when I bought this car there was a little plastic cover on the hood release latch under the hood that showed the direction to push. Somewhere along the...
I found this two wire plug the other night when I was changing spark plugs on the '02 Grand Marquis. It's coming up from somewhere below the alternator between the rear of the alternator and the...
The original loft supports on the Mark VI were fine when I bought it but they wouldn’t hold the hood up in cool weather. I got the Stabilus lift supports from O’Reilly’s. They’re just now coming up...
I was able to work around the edges of the lens with a putty knife and it eventually came free, there was some sort of two sided tape holding it in. I used some 3M two sided trim tape I had laying...
The seller said the old glue is often weak enough that they will wiggle out. I haven’t had a chance to try anything yet as I’ve been too busy with more pressing projects.
I already have one of...
I was able to remove the bolt from the rear of the solenoid, I then removed the internal siding valve and spring. Everything has been back to normal since then.
I replaced the cap, everything seems good now.
I'll have to give that a try, there's no rush on this I most likely won't be driving it until I get the trunk lid fixed.
So like the turn signal lenses I tried to replace this sounds like a huge pain in the ass, unless I can find the whole assembly. So far even the NOS parts I've found have been just the lens. That's...
Does anyone know how to removedthe Mark VI tail light lenses? I was able to remove the entire fender extension/filler panel and then I removed the actual tail light assembly from that. But I'm having...
I’m thinking it’s the cap on the expansion tank even though it’s only two months old. I just took it off after driving 20 miles and there was no pressure built up. I haven’t lost any coolant at all...
The old thermostat was in fact stuck wide open. I’m addressing that now. Temp gauge is working so far. I’m waiting on the new thermostat to open now.
Edit: Temp gauge is working, still not...
Yesterday I replaced the radiator in the LSE. It started leaking pretty good on the way home from work one night about two weeks ago, check engine light and temp light came on right as I got into my...
Yes, he’s the black sheep of the family. He doesn’t come around often but when he does something unfortunately gets destroyed. He’s the type of guy who could write me a check for whatever the damage...
Thanks Dave. I’ll take a look at it when I get a chance, although I don’t think this is anything I’ll be doing in a hurry. A friend of mine has a brother who is an excellent body man. I’m going to...
I know this is a long shot but I’m looking for a Mark VI trunk lid that is as rust free is possible. My uncle wasn’t paying attention today and backed his truck right into mine and the right side of...
It appears that removing that Allen bolt just allows disassembly of the solenoid. There doesn't seem to be a way to get the solenoid body out of the pump. Anyone know a quick fix to get this back on...
Does anyone know if the bolt holding the EVO solenoid on is right or left hand thread? I'm trying to get the new one off of the reman pump and it's way tighter than I would think it should be.
Thanks Sly. I’ll take a good look at those when I get the chance. I dropped the glove box and there’s one module with two connectors that says EVO/RAS. I tried reseating the connectors, that didn’t...
It’s possible. But considering the air suspension module and EVO module are apparently one and the same I’m thinking both this problem and my steering problem are related to that module.
I just got home from work and as I was pulling in the driveway the car bogged down like it was going to stall and now the steering is sticking again. I’m guessing this has to be EVO related.
Edit:...
That’s what I’m thinking too unfortunately. I was thinking about this and the first time it ever happened was actually last June. I was sitting waiting for a train and got rear ended in a line of 4...
The compressor runs for a few seconds to level the car when I start it. And yes the time is measured from when the engine is started.
The vent solenoid is on the compressor. That is working fine. The ride height sensor is set so it sits a tad bit above level. It was like that when I got it.
I’ll have to get under there and...
Does anyone here know the air suspension system on these cars in depth? I’ve been having an issue with my ‘02 LSE for the last six months or so.
Everything works normal but after approximately 30...
