Very nice. I always wanted a cruise control on status light when I had the station wagon. But never really looked into it in depth

I’m definitely interested in the fender, I’ll send you a PM!
The studs like to corrode inside the spacer, making it hard to get apart. you could try soaking it with PBR blaster for a day, or try heat
It might be a couple months, but when I pull my 351 out, I can see if there is a part number on the bracket. I don't recall seeing one though, I know it has "5.8L" stamped on it
I hope that cop car goes to a good home... like the seller said, there aren’t many left. I love the dual spot lights... I always wanted to put one on my vehicle but couldn’t justify drilling into the...
Nice! What kind of suspension parts are you putting into it? Any details on the 460 build? I assume you’re looking for 500+Hp?
For the year, current prices on older (collector, antique etc), and general rarity, that's a good deal, Especially with those wheels that can be resold for decent money
Just a regular AOD with a shift kit. Served me well for many years
Some more good finds Dave.
Figured I'd put this here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1979-89-Ford-LTD-Crown-Vic-Mercury-Marquis-NOS-Blue-Dash-Pad/133142025732?hash=item1effe21604:g:CnYAAOSw2BFdUz~U

Yes top rings are ductile, plasma-moly coated.
Block was decked .005 in the hole, crank bore line honed, rods re-bored/honed, rotating assembly was dynamically balanced. I assembled the rotating...
Seats came today! Quality and color match is excellent.

As far as the engine- I'd get it bored. There are so many variables that could cause the engine not to last. My core...
I looked up the gear ratios because I was curious...definitely truck gearing. M5OD-R2 Really wide spread between the ratios, and 1st gear looks like a granny gear (2.73 rear might do ok with it, it's...
The rotating assembly was dynamically balanced, crank bore line honed, all rods honed, block zero decked (well .005 in the hole..). it got the works. heres the current build thread:...
Unless you're doing full out racing all the time, and have a good 7qt+ oil pan... It's really not necessary. I bought a hardened ARP oil pump driveshaft, for insurance. I think it's more work and...
That would be a fun race, I’ve never raced a car on a drag strip before, but I’d like to take the LTD someday to see what it’ll do.
It’s a factory pan with the dipstick mounted inside. They’re...
I’ll for sure report back on the quality of the wires when I get them.
Yeah I have found local pre-made ones to be lacking in quality as well.
The seats should be here on Monday (I hope)....
Rotating short block is all assembled, I still have to check the cam with the cam degree kit I got. Trickflow heads have been on backorder for a month...the supplier says they still arent sure when...
Interstate is mediocre in my experience. my last bosch lasted me 10 years
I put a group size 65 in mine, 1000 CA 850CCA... I believe. I don't think much bigger than that will fit. You may need a new, larger battery hold down, but don't quote me on that
I would try facebook marketplace or craigslist. If you aren't looking for a roller 351w then they are all over the place
haha thanks, based on your pictures you look about what I was at before, but with healthier rear springs, and I dropped around 2". No rubbing at all, no bottoming out. Plenty of ground clearance.
I suppose I will add my experience/ 2 cents here. If I were you, and you still want to lower the car, i would replace all the balljoints and the shocks (you don't have to worry about destroying them...
One advantage of the panther bracket is you can buy all the hoses pre-made relatively cheaply...Who pulled that 351W bracket off the cop car in the junkyard at scottfest a few years ago "just in...
Let us know how it works with the wagon, everyone who put those in a panther said it jacked the front end up super high. But I don’t recall anyone doing it with a wagon so maybe you will be OK
Interesting, i thought they were all out of the HD spring. Aero- panther springs should work in a pinch, ride height and stiffness is about the same as wagon/HD springs. I have cut down ones in my LTD
