"AOD is fine for a big slow luxury boat. In a smaller, quicker car like a Mustang, a manual is the only option." My point exactly!!

As Lawrence Welk used to say, "Very, Very, Niceum"!!!!
Is it me or does a manual seem strange in a "luxury" vehicle? I see manuals fitting better in a sports cars or small import.
Sounds like the EVP Sensor (that bad boy that sits on top of the EGR Valve). First I'd make sure the EGR Valve is clean (along with the ports) and that the diaphragm is not damaged. Then pull vacuum...
Maybe with some photos someone may come up with a good idea???
I use Type F in my PS ('87 GM) - still original pump and as quiet as a "rat pissing on cotton"!!!
Would be cool if you posted some photos of the parts.
Low pressure switch and connector to the compressor would be the first two things I'd check.
That be about right. Customer out of pocket, at least down here, is approximately $1-2K at a well regarded shop with many years GOOD experience and no BS. Chains may be less but expect several...
All part of the "new mechanics" - if it doesn't have computers/electronics attached to it most are lost! If you need a good laugh, ask one to balance a carb!!!
He was talking about lining things up with a timing light.
I'm talking complete rebuild and a new TC.
Down here it would cost between $1,200 and $2,000.
Ah leave him alone, Dave. Maybe he ENJOYS sleeping on the couch??? LOL
+1 On that one - would have saved mucho grief!!
That's the best news - that you were not behind it!! The other shit is replaceable.
That is why I stick to OEM parts whenever possible. Would have been a good idea to remove the TFI and clean/thermal paste it before re=installing so you would know it would last several years longer....
So we really don't know the exact culprit but the good news is that it is fixed!!
True 'nuff!!
Wood may be easier to get but I would prefer a piece of cut off metal (like rebar but without ridges or something) with some heat/oil resistant sealant. Not sure how wood would hold up....
"The finger ratchet may not HAVE enough clearance". Sorry for leaving out "have" originally. Yes, English IS my first language!!!
I included the photo of the last tool because sometimes you can get in there without removing the dizzy. The finger ratchet may not enough clearance.
Does it cut down on the filtered air coming in and allow more dirt to the carb?
What is the reason for the upside down air cleaner top?
As "Cheap Pete" (Chris Rock) used to say, "Good LOORD...das alotta money"!!!! "Hows 'bout I gives ya .69 cents and you just let me sniff the interior"!
