Another option would be rigging up an aftermarket actuator. I've been meaning to do this in accordance with this write up.
I replaced both rear door lock actuators with aftermarket replacements,...
Actually, I just realized that I already bought a used passenger side assembly from someone on here. I just procrastinated on doing anything with it and forgot I had it. I appreciate it, though!
Those are nice. However, the Monarch/Granada of that era has to be one of the ugliest tail panels Ford ever produced. I remember those cars being fairly ubiquitous during my younger years.
After bringing up a '75 F100 lock cylinder on Rock Auto, it looks like you're right.
eBay find from earlier in the week. This will go on the original cluster out of my car since I've been kind of wanting to swap it back in. The printed circuit on that's currently on there was damaged...
It took American auto makers a long time to make a bumper that met the 5-mph NHTSA standard AND looked good.
I know. I've actually already done that before. I replaced all three doors since I had some junkyard pieces with good doors, but that looked worse than the complete assemblies I had.
I think one...
$50 for that?!
I'm in need of another one since the tab broke on the rear driver's ash tray door on my car. But not for that kind of money.
I, too would recommend using the fox headers. The early-Mustang headers have an outlet on the passenger side that goes straight toward the firewall.
It makes sense that there would be a cam sensor since there is no distributor.
The leaf spring perches are the exact same distance apart as early Mustangs. It was an easy way to get a 9" disc brake rear in your classic Mustang back when the Versailles was more common. But now,...
There's a salvage yard I really miss going to in Sunset, TX that got a '79 Versailles in last year. They posted about it on their Facebook page and within minutes someone was asking about the 9"...
This is an example of something I'd love to get my hands on. This and the Granada of the same vintage were like miniature versions of the GM and CV on the Fox platform. And it's even more nondescript...
"This [...] was purchased new [...], remained with its original owner until her passing in 2016, and moved to Florida upon being acquired by the seller in February 2020."
These damned vultures...
Not as common as with early Mustangs, but it's possible. The primary rust areas on fox platform cars are the bottom of the windshield opening and (the big one) the frame rails just below the strut...
Very nice! I'm with you on using the GT brakes. I'm considering using a front suspension kit on my '66 Mustang that would allow me to use SN-95 brakes. I'd stick with GT/V6 hardware since I wouldn't...
I'll add that if your PCV mesh filter becomes clogged, the cork gaskets will be the first ones to get blown out. Mine also came apart in crispy chunks when I redid the top end gaskets.
My car also...
Thanks for that link on the h-pipe. I had no idea made a stainless h-pipe for Mustangs that wasn’t catted.
Probably something you'd get automatically if you optioned your car with a block heater?

I'll try to remember to pull the pictures...
A little late, but here are my two cents...
I would consider this highly unlikely given the amount of ground clearance these cars have to begin with. Lowering the car an inch or less up front...
