    floppy cable

    hey whats this cable thats floppin around of my cougars tb?

    im hoping its for the cruise, when i open the tb blades the other 2 cables move one way, this one moves the opposite.

    Well, an arrow would help....the throttle cable and cruise are together, and the other one that I see there looks like a TV cable for the trans

        The one with the yellow fastener is the throttle...

        the one on top with the spring is the TV pressure for the trans

                Yep, the two cables with the yellow connector are for gas pedal and cruise servo, the single cable is for the tranny kickdown - buy the brass bushing for $5.30, flip the black connector so that the pin points to the TB plate, slide the bushing on the pin, slide the pin with the bushing through the hole in the TB plate, lock it there with the spring clip that'll come with the brass bushing, good to go. DO IT ASAP OR YOU'LL COOK THE TRANNY!!!

                      i been looking for the cougar specific part # on cougar boards

                      im going to try and get this from my dealer
                      they said they couldnt locate it in their computer catalog

                      found the part# here real quick. but dunno if its the same for all 5.0's

                      part #F3SZ-7H303-B.

                      ill try it
                      its cheap enough

                          It's probably the same one, I put one of the 5.0-specific bushings on my friend's '89 SuperCoupe T-bird (3.8 liter) and it fit right in.
