Its a 4.3 Vortec V6. They didn't make an HO version, this one is 175 hp. All stock, 143k miles, new trans at 130k. Runs fine, no major problems. Installed ball joints on one side and a fuel filter. Ran out of motivation and didn't bother with the other side. They aren't as bad on that side, barely any play. I'll deal with it later.

They did make a HO version of the 4.3, but I guess they only put em in Blazers. I know someone who has one, it moves pretty quick.

It had slack, not huge amounts, but over spec. Silly to not replace it while the timing cover is off, they're so cheap its worth it.

yes silly not to replace the timing chain and gears while the timing cover was off......the double roller set from advance was like 24 bucks..

I dont know if advancing the cam on a lopo would do anything useful. It moves the power band downward, and its already at a fairly low RPM. I'd imagine it would just make it run out of breath even faster.

Nice work there Scott. Man, I can't believe how nice PA is. Must be nice to have so much open air around your place. When I win the lottery, I'm going to have alot of open space around my place.
