I'm pretty sure the power stuff was standard in '90. I know up to '89 there are P72s with manual windows and locks.

I wish that site with the VIN codes was still up...could use that in there. (like for '87 P71 = 2 door cv P72 = fleet P73 = base model, etc.)

and no, on the ABS ?.

I have most of the P- (and M- for you later Mercs and Lincolns) VIN codes at home in a book going back to 1979. I can add them later.

I'll change that power lock/window thing to 1990.

Okay, added that Merc's got updated dash trim and door panel trim in 1987, but didn't get the crosshatch climate control vents the CV got until 1988.

You want me to find pictures of various 1979-1991 boxes and compile them in folders? eBay will be your friend? Maybe we can assign different people different years for pictures.

I'd prefer not to use eBay since all of their pictures usually have the hosting symbol in the bottom. I'd really like pictures from factory literature so we can see what they looked like new and before people got the chance to change parts around.

I have a book here with lots of factory pictures, I just need to scan them sometime.

But if you find some some pictures online that you think are good, post here I guess. This our project - anyone who contributes will be mentioned in it.

We might get some of us to take pictures of some of the unique features of the specific model years.

                    C6? Dont you mean C4?

Also FWIW my 1985 CV came from the factory with the third brake light, the light has a 1986 part number on it. My car was a late build, 8/85.

I'll add the part about the late '85's getting the third brake light.

The book said C6. Anyone got an early car and want to crawl under there and see if it sports a C4, C6, or FMX?

I've come to the conclusion that Duce is correct, the C4 would make more sense than the C6. I'm going to change that part to C4 unless anyone has an objection.

                            Thanks Jason for the scan!
