      UPDATE!

In a month, when i get back from puerto rico, the Tank is getting a minor overhaul.
      This includes:
      - newer 4.6L motor painted grabber green and flat black
      - newer driveshaft that actually fits
      - newer transmission speed sensor, so the speedometer is correct
      - new left rear caliper and rotor
      - finally installing the start engine switch
      - dual F***in exhaust.
The motor will be stock when i finish the work. Im gonna take it to the dyno, when my other forum has a dyno day, get a baseline, then gradually installing parts to see, if any, gains.
      rock on.

tires are excellant. Brakes are doing well too, seeing how only 3 out of the 4 work.

I haven't departed for Puerto Rico yet. I'm going for 2 weeks as part of military orders.

anyways, when i return, i need to get my motor and other items. i hope to be able to do the swap in a weekend and have minimal downtime. i hope.

and i will take tons of pics.

ps. Did you know that the Bacardi Factory is in San Juan, Puerto Rico? That's where I'm going. It's going to be a tough 2 weeks of orders.

I'll be back in a week. I'm really excited about starting this project! Plus the Tank is going green.... as in grabber green stripe. also, Tom, the engine will match the transmission. And i get the opportunity to wire-wheel the engine bay while the engine is out, and Line-X/Rhinoliner/Herculiner/Rubberized undercoat the entire engine bay.
Im going grabber green and flat black on the engine and tranny.
Also, i might eventually try a grabber green and gloss black deal on the rims. With powdercoating, of course.
                      word.

ok so i just went from this:

                        to this:

                        -2 new cats with downpipes

                        -new h-pipe
                        - 2 thrush turbo mufflers
                        - 2 new tail pipes

All painted in VHT 1300* High Temp Aluminum paint for corrosion reasons

and this weekend i weld on the Marauder tips: i have to polish them up a little first

And i did some drilling today.....

J-mod goes in wednesday. Along with the green stripe (its gonna be 65 out!)

Looks a million times better. Is that box looking thing the muffler? I've never seen one that looks like that, goofy. And why do the tailpipes have to be bent so drastically? What gets in the way back there so the have to be bent like that?

Rear control arms, springs, fuel lines ( only on mine) axle. you'd be surprised how funky it is back there. and that stock muffler is a pile. I couldn't even imagine having a stock dual exhaust setup with those on the car! And i painted my green stripe today!!

This color is absolutely OUTRAGEOUS!!! and i love it!! i just need the green text on the lid and some other small things!!!

cool...so being that we pretty much have the same car, but I think your was already dual before your switch right? And I agree, why so much bend in the tail pipes? And the marauder tips...a.re they mufflers, or just aesthetics? Your being awful kind to this panther noob...lol.
I am in FL, so would I want to completely take out the cats? Like you said, dont wanna be too wide open and end up losing backpressure and poewr. Just wondering if the cats and exhaust are needed. I DONT want obnoxious loud either. I dont want someone to know I can take em red light to light Sleeper car style...

TOJ2 is lookin good! Same car a s mine pretty much, just a year off

                              take it easy

My car was not dual before the swap. In the top pic, that's all my original exhaust.
The tips are from my Marauder. They're 3.5" diameter, 26" long with resonators inside.
The reason these are off the Marauder is that i put 4" resonator-delete tips on it.

If you take care of your car, it will last a long time. That's why i put rubberized undercoating on the bottom of my car. It won't rust.

You can take out the cats if you want. i just wouldn't go with 2.5" pipe unless your pushing a lot of power. I'd just have some decent mufflers on there.
