haha, that achieves the opposite effect - now I'm sitting here laughing and the image of you rubbing and scrubing half the engine bay so the shiney carb don't look completely outta place - enjoy yer new maid job

I got it. You ordered 8 Weber Downdrafts to keep you busy all winter.

                        I think it's a one-barrel Zenith-Stromberg that's been chromed.

Probably stole the carb off his push lawnmower. 1bbl Tillotson ftw!

well...since its my car and I bought the Carb..I dont think I would care if some people said along the lines of what u posted Dave.

ok..you foudn me out...I got a 1bbl...but I took it from an old 4cyl Tempo...the guy I bought it from jetted it and made it put out 600cfm..so, it will work..and fuel mpg will go up since it's only a 1bbl.
                            good decision, huh?

Funny, since I'm pretty sure Escorts used a 2-barrel "Arrow" carburetor set up like a four-barrel, with one primary bore and one secondary. Kind of makes a person want to whittle up a 3-barrel or something, kind of like 3 Strombergs with a progressive linkage, but smaller and easy to tune.

Edit: not sure where I got the name "Arrow", maybe it was a carb rebuilder back in the early '90s. Here's the animal I was talking about: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-8...spagenameZWDVW

Not really, if the flow was like 150cfm the it could work well till about 2000rpms, but with 600cfm even if it's 1/2-bbl the mpg will be more like gpm :p
