lots of short distance not fully warmed up driving might also be related. Motor never gets hot enough to cook the crap out of it, so it builds and builds and then you get permaclogs.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

Yes, I think this car had lots of short trips in it's last years of the previous owner.
Luckily the motor was pretty clean inside as far as sludge. The intake runners were black, however. I might seafoam the intake runners, but I don't want to bend a valve if some large chunk of carbon crap comes off. Anyone heard of bending valves when you Seafoam?1990 Country Squire - weekend cruiser, next project

Damn that was clogged. At least you won't have to worry about plugging the holes in the heads now, lol.
Never heard of bending valves due to large carbon chunk breakoff while seafoaming, but I suppose if it was caked in there thick enough,it might be possible.

Normally anything in the intake runners is just baked on oil sludge. Shouldn't be much chance of any chunks coming loose.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

i found the only way to get the intake runners really clean is to remove the intakes and soak them in purple power (warning removes finishes) and pressure wash the crap out of them till they are clean........did the upper in 98 when i got my towny along with a tune up and vc gaskets, and the car ran so much better
