first set of CUSTOM '79-'87 clears ever!!

So I got my clears from Pete today in the mail... and I already had planned on taking the cover off the one so I could repaint the peeling paint on the inside of it.

Took some patience with a box cutter, but I got the cover off!

I figured, since the other one could use it a little too... why not try and take it off? Now keep in mind the passenger corner was cracked in a few spots when I first got it, and the one section broke off during the removal. I'll be fixing it. Had to post the tools of the trade while I was at it... lol.

Anybody order a set of custom clears, with a side of KICKASS!!

So, I'm going to repaint them but it's going to be a custom job... already know what my plan is, but I'd like to hear your opinions on what I should do!

That's the plan! Thought it would look badass with the black grille and how I painted the inserts on the bezels black too.

Unfortunately... the only day it's gonna be a decent temperature out for the next week is Sunday, and it'll be 49. And rainy.

The parents don't allow lots of painting in the garage, since my mom's Blazer is kept in there. It's also not heated. So I have to wait until it gets warm enough out (and dry) so that I can paint 'em up. I'm also going to repaint my grille and headlamp bezels, it's been quite a while since I've put a coat on 'em. They could really use it too.

Hoping it gets warmer out soon!!!!!!!!!

I said screw it, it feels nice out, so I painted them today.

The only thing that I don't like... the cracks in the clears are more visible now. I purchased the amber bulbs for it when I was at work earlier too.

Can't wait to get them on there! I wanna see what it's going to look like under that slight glow of a street light. Mmmmm...

i gotta great idea... is there a way to use LEDs instead??? that way when light reflects into the lens it doesnt look yellow from the bulb. and when lights are in use, the are yellow since LEDs are only colored when on.
