Contact between fan and shroud is a problem I have been battling for a few years now. Basically you can adjust the shroud to a point by removing the lower clips they sit in and making up something new and by using different j nuts at the top of the radiator. I am at a point now where I can do no more adjustments. Time to suck it up and replace the sagging engine mounts. My problem first reared its head when I did the body mounts. Then it became even more pronounced when I installed the new tranny mount.

            a/c compressor took a crap...

Bearings are shot. Not driving the car until I can buy a new part. Later this week, if work isn't too hectic.

                made of gold

I pricey out a new compressor today. $479...?? Needless to say, I'll be going after a used part or deleting the a/c. I've got more important things to spend my money on.

and Canada mark-up. Reman compressor is about $160 and new is about $250 around here IIRC.

                            no more grinding noise

The compressor now has new bearings! Washed the car this evening. Went to use the wipers but they were stuck under the hood. Pulled over and un-seized them.

Damn!!! Sounds like your CV is mounting a full rebellion. You may need to display the hammer and torch to let it know that you don't want to hear that junk.
