    1985 Grand Marquis LS "Theresa"

Hiya guys! Love the site. Love these cars. I can't believe I waited until recently to get one of these. I've known many of these Boxes over the years, from family to friends, and was always impressed.

I've been enjoying looking at all the Panthers here. Beautiful cars! I had no idea there was a Panther following. I'm rather glad there is and plan to join the parade.

In the months since I've had my Mercury, I've learned so much about them. I've always liked the look and quality of them. Some people consider themselves Ford guys, or GM guys or what have you. I've always considered myself a car guy.

Over the years I've had a '70 Datsun truck, '66 Impala 4dr hard-top, '74 260z, '67 Continental, '68 Barracuda, '63 Galaxie 500 box-top, '79 Impala coupe, '74 Coupe Deville, '68 Coupe Deville, and now this '85 Grand Marquis. I still have my '68 Coupe Deville, which is parked after 10yrs of ownership, for proper restoration. In the meantime, I acquired this Mercury as a daily driver and am never selling it.

I fell in love instantly and am a happy Panther owner. I named her "Theresa" after the original owner, may she rest in peace. Sorry for the long message! Got to go for a drive in my Mercury!

    Thanks guys!

Thanks all for the welcome, I love this site with all the information and other panthers! You guys rock!

This cream puff of a Merc does run well with the cfi, though not sure how a mpfi runs. This is the newest car I've owned. I'm sure it'd have more power with a mpfi conversion. Not sure if I want to change or keep it stock. ideas? Or change it to carbs?

Go EFI. It's a road not taken much. FatNasty converted his Merc to EFI from CFI. I think he made a write up on what you need to do it.

                  Beautiful car!

Are the mudflaps in the rear the stainless ones? If so, good choice! I had a pair on my old '84 and it could really pull them off.

Yeah, still need to get on that write-up, sort through all the grease covered notes I took regarding the wiring... As for going from CFI-EFI, its worth it, not really too difficult. If you do go through all the trouble of a swap, go with a High Output setup, not just lopo.
