What can I say? GREAT WORK, AS USUAL!!! I used a dremmel to cut that little ledge on the battery base so I could put a larger battery in. By the way, is that a fuel filter under the hood? Moved from near the rear paessenger wheel??? Bobby

Thank you! I have no fuel filter underneath the hood. Maybe that is the tachometer you are confusing it with?

Thanks and agreed...among other things...Daryl. I dread masking for that job though as I have to cover the entire front end of the car. But it sure will look nice!

Was referring to that "silver can" between the wire looms and between the relay box and firewall. What is it?

Right above the front passenger wheel well. It is a "silver can" angled up.

I think you are in fact referring to the tachometer...either that or the fuse for the 4 channel amp.

You're right - I used a magnifying glass and it is the Tach. You can see it better in Photos 2 and 3.

wedge style battery hold down... the battery hold down in my 88 is beyond screwed... and is also non-existant in my Mark. Currently using those ugly ass adjustable J hook things from AZ. What/where did you get the wedge style holder from?

This one came from an 05 Explorer...but I know that my moms 95 explorer has the exact same set up..my dads 98 expedition does as well. Probably have a lot of options to find them.

I think I tried talking Dave into pulling the blower motor and painting it once. He didn't go for it. Though, if I was going to the trouble of taking it out, it would be getting a new one. Which I think I might, since I think it's drawing a little more juice than it should be.

What is a "wedge type" battery hold-down? Does it hold the battery from moving without having to use the original J-hook hold down point?

We tried at the junkyard...I will pull mine to paint it...I am just lazy....and with work it is hard to find the time, or mood to do it.

Maybe I am making up the name but it works like this: the battery has a little ridge on each side of it. Ford made a piece of plastic that compliments that ridge and holds it down giving you a cleaner look of a battery hold down.

David ,Did you have to change the battery tray or is the provision for the wedge type already built in ?
