Yep. EVERYTHING from the front of the engine.

Soaked the dirty ones in soapy water overnight and cleaned them up today with a scotch brite and some scrubbing paste. I only needed two types of water pump bolts but grabbed EVERYTHING to be safe. Will wirewheel the threads and whatever rusty bits this weekend.

Also found the 98 to 02 NON abs brake line I wanted from the master to the drivers side brake hose:

      De greased cruddy bolts:

De crudded bolts courtesy of my nifty 8" ryobi bench grinder with wire wheel attachment:

      Organized!

Top right: I believe all belong to things around the power steering pump bracket.

Top center: crank shaft pulley bolts

Top left: stud and nut i think go somehow with the tensioner

Bottom right: water pump bolt/timing cover and pointer bolts

Center: middle five bolts are for ac brackets and alternator brackets

      Bottom left: ac compressor bolts

Only needed two of the water pump bolts.....The medium studed one and the one that is in between the mediums and the small ones. I prepped and painted only those two water pump bolts with nuts and all of the other bolts today as well.

The only guy who spends two weeks, acquiring and cleaning bolts.

This is gonna take a while.

I, for one, appreciate the dedication, precision and detail he brings to all his projects. Bobby always told me about Dave and I have seen the results for myself. I just wish more people were like that!!

I just like to see it have the proper beat down on it every once in awhile. Even though he's gonna be nice to the motor for the first 5,000 miles.

So in about 5 years, I'll get to see him do burnouts again.

hm, your water pump gasket didn't come with that extra useless bit that I always cut off because it looks dumb. Which gasket number is that? Whatever one comes in the set for my car has this tag bit between the two right-most (pass side) bolts that just hangs there in space outside of where the gasket contacts anything.

Any clearcoat on the heads, or are they anodized to keep them from oxidizing?

Assembly has been a pain...well really a learning experience. Still have a bolt to replace on the water pump as it is not painted as well as some other little things like oil pressure adapter and sender when the engine is installed. Currently have the fugly stock sensor in there.

one of the threads in the block for holding the waterpump on was gummed up and so I had to remove the damn timing cover and clean up the threads and reinstall it all. Then there was the oil pump....Installed the oil pump, pick up, pan and all. Guess what was forgotten?.....

Yep the damned drive shaft. Start all over again and install the drove shaft this time.

Took a break from it today.

                              Thain:

                              Sorry about the orientation.

The heads are bare. Will regret not clearing them for sure.

No time line on the install.

If it makes you feel any better, the trick-flow heads I have of unknown age (probably at least 5+ years) are still in very nice shape as far as external looks, not that you can see much of them at all anyway. But the parts you do see still have some shine to them.
