Wow, that's a real pretty blue on that '79. Too bad about the poor repair job on the P-side.

That '85.. Original owner was too cheap for a clock but had to have A/C.

79 is a unique color. Never seen one in that. And the 351 smogger was a $300 option. Wow that’s a bit of a rip off. Although the 79 made more torque than any other 351 in a Panther, at 1400rpm. Tractor style.

Needed it with those 2.xx gears it probably had haha. That torque combined with a reltavily low 1st is what makes people think these cars are "Powerful." I know they're not the same but I've seen more ads for SEFI lopos with things along the lines of "Fast" or "powerful engine" than I can remember. Try saying that above 60mph floored and I think other words would come to mind.

That's a POS. Interior looks to have been a humidity chamber for a awhile and under hood is rotten too. That poverty top is growing on me. I'd like to see a box TC with digi dash, power passenger seat, auto lamps, load leveling suspension, turbines, auto dim mirror, JBL and illuminated entry with the poverty top. That would be a rare bird. According to the literature, it is possible.

It's a good enough POS for me that I would only drive it in the summer.

Vic, we've got to do something about your standards.

That's the type of POS that would run just good enough to make it into your driveway or half way home before shitting it's pants. You can tell that guy has done just enough to get it running and is crossing his fingers that it continues to do so just long enough for him to get cash in his hands... Only buy that if you'd like to go through & clean all of the connectors in the engine bay, reseal the top half of the engine, redo the stereo, possibly the ECM and all window motors. Oh, lets not forget the braking system.... For all that money & frustration you could have yourself a clean car from the south, one with more options too!

LOL, as soon as buying a vehicle is not a death sentence for said vehicle I might raise the bar. I will likely still only care about the body; I need something to keep me busy since a "perfect, needs no work" car would be boring.
One more student loan payed off, so I'm making progress but it will be a while before I'm free from that crap.

Nothing wrong with work, but rusty crap like that is a lost cause and more of a PITA than they're worth. I thought Ashley's truck was solid enough for what we paid but we should've done the 6 hour one way drive for the mostly rust free '88 F250. That one had a 351, full floater rear end, A/C and tilt wheel already functioning too. Was like 3.5x the price of this truck though, although I doubt it would have needed as much work. Work which made the price of this damn thing skyrocket haha. Doesn't burn oil! Leaks a lot of ATF from the top of the trans cover though. You wouldn't happen to have a trans jack and some spare time would ya??

Yeah I was hoping to have my student loans paid off this year...

I do have a cheap ass trans jack, depending on how heavy of a trans we are talking, it might do the job. I used it for my AOD.
I'll have to see what I can do as far as finding spare time goes.

I've got quite a few years to go on the student loans.

Well, according to some quick searching the 2WD version of the M5ODR2 is about 113 lbs where as an AOD is 150lbs...
Only if you could manage it, it's certainly not a job I'd be looking forward to. Seems we might not have to drop the trans but if we removed the seat and the rubber floor, we could take off the cover and attack it that way. Which sounds doable to Ash and I.
