    rear springs

Just thought i would let you guys in on some info i found out.
a standard 2.5'' dia. coil over spring is a direct replacment for the rear pigs tail springs, did this my self not heard from someone else. So i know for a fact it works. You can get 2.5'' dia. spring from QA1 all the way up to 14'' in length for less than $40 a peice and there are plenty of spring rate availible also. I only had a 7'' long spring i stole out of my honda to try it with and it was way to short haha. As soon as my tax return gets here im goin to buy some 12'' long ones in 170lb in. spring rate. Will keep you guys updated on how it works out.

The only thing I'd worry about with that kind of length is the spring just bending and shooting out instead of compressing.

yeah the monte carlo guys are running a 12'' spring for like a 2'' drop it seems.
Also i did notice that the perches on are cars arent quit vertical over one another. maybe 1/2 to 1/4 inch off center from top to bottom. I dunno just have to get some and see how it works maybe a lil creative fab work haha who knows.

The axle doesn't travel quite vertical, its got a slight arc to it. Probably thats why the perches are offset.

it would work if you ran some aftermarket offset spring perches, they mount the spring a few inches off centerline of axle.

but yeah i tried it before, at ride height the top perch is probably 4-5" forward of the lower one

There is no V6 panther. Trouble with whacking springs is it doesn't bump the spring rate enough to keep the front end from bottoming out. It might work for people who don't have passengers, fat friends, or speed bumps but for those of us who ride around with our fat friends in speed-bump riddled areas, higher spring rate aftermarket springs are the way to go.

Well put gadget, with me and 3 of my friends in the car were tippin 1200lbs. All of us are around 300lbs, so yes if i go lower there is definetly a need for a higher rate spring. Haven't decided on front rate but im thinkin 170lbs .in in the rear i dunno though.
