I fail to see how one can get a good finish, painting a car with a roller. And yes, I made a foolish attempt and didn't try that hard, but the results were.... nothing short of hideous. I have seen the claims, etc. But, unless you want to spend alot of time wet sanding, buffing, etc, I can't see where it pays off.

That finish is on par with the finish on the burnout box.

If you thin it a LOT, maybe it will come out ok but I can see problems getting it to lay without extensive sag issues on vertical panels. Hood, trunk, and roof can probably be made to come out very nice with a roller but the sides, ehhh.

You know if you have at least a 20 gal compressor and a cheap spray gun, you can do a quality job with tractor enamel for little over 100 bucks. Not to mention the tractor enamel is tough shit.

Just spray paint it with some automotive spray paint. In between every visit to the body shop with my car i am using Duplicolor spray paint to just cover up the primer so it is protected, and i must say it does a damn good job.

I've done cars in Walmart paint, it looks ok for a month or so but it oxidizes something terrible even with waxing.

Visit your local harbor freight tool store and purchase a 20 gallon compressor for 150, and spray guns there are less than twenty dollars. I have that compressor and it does me fine.
