I like it, what would be cooler though is if the lights along the dashboard acted like a giant VU meter, more sound making the lights go out further.

This is actually what I wanted to do with the 1st LED dash... Id even like to split it up by frequency so different lights light up with bass, mid, and treble. I found hobby circuit kits for a VU meter and one for a frequency analyzer, but the complexity scared me away. Plus to do this you'd have to wire each LED separately... would be oodles and oodles more wiring so I nixed it.

nah wouldnt be too awfly bad just use cat5 cable and then hide it if you xome acoss the schematics for the vu led dash and stuff ill see what i can do about building one, i had the same idea but use those sound sensitive neons i was going to put a set in my trunk takes like 5 or 6 of them to get it to go right but definatly cool show mang

CAT 5!!! good idea... I didnt even think about that. Thats 5 wires in one... say one for each of 5 clusters for each level maybe... doing three frequencies would only require 3 cables if i can share grounds... ooooo!!!!!!!!!! :led:

Awesome work but I'm pretty sure I'd crash my damn car if I tried to drive at night with that vegas show going on.

I've purchased 12 conductor intercom cable before. I think it was 24 ga wire inside, which ought to be plenty enough for an LED. It was pretty close to the same jacket diameter as CAT5.
