That's a pretty nifty part.
I have had a CB in several of my vehicles but get fuel pump whine on every vehicle with an electric fuel pump.

yes... and no...
My mom's 79 LTD-S tudor had the CB antenna that had a large black CB antenna module 2/3 up the radio antenna instead of the plain metal stick radio antenna. So yes, it is used to hook both the radio and CB up to the radio antenna, but it requires the CB/Radio antenna as well.

True. Get about the same range as a hand held. Maybe a mile... on a good day... on the highway... in the middle of nowhere... on flat land.

That device would be cool to have. I just have fear that it would not work and get me stranded. I had to laugh looking at the box. It shows a picture of a Ford Escort/ Mercury lynx from the early 80s. Who would want to steal that car ?
A little thrown off by the part number. Aside from the 79 designation it matches the 85 parts number for the cv trunk trim at the lip of the trunk. Of course seller does not proved a decent picture of the contents inside. Most likely because it is packaged so well currently.

That’s great to see one of those trunk trim strips for sale! I’m in need of a new one since mine didn’t survive being removed to replace the adhesive. Yikes on that price though. I can’t justify that especially without a complete set of pictures. I also wonder if it would even survive shipping. Still, a very cool find as I figured it was an unobtanium item.
I did snag that NOS fixed mast antenna you posted! My power one is trashed and I have been wanting to switch to a fixed one for awhile now. Thank you for posting that!

Another neat looking oddball of a radio.

Guts of that are the same as the more common tape deck radio, just obviously no tape mechanism installed. Perfect if you want to add a Bluetooth receiver though, there is a big open space inside where you could put the board.
thats the earlier one with the glossy faceplate. I think it changed to the matte look in 85.

Very interesting. Part number on the back is the standard 86 5.0 HO part from what Google tells me... I'm guessing some machine work and some kind of filler to fill in the missing parts to make a 7.
