Are you sure about that? https://autot.tori.fi/vaihtoautot/opel/rekord/70272023 (it's for a whole car, not parts)

I don't know why, but to me that color and those wheels just scream box chevy somehow.

Those wheels... they scream G-body GM (and cool things like 305s and really terrible plastic everywhere) to me on an 80's era ride. Just not my taste. I will say the seats did take some money to do. I will also say that I prefer working locks and windows over fancy seats.

Those GM center caps really don't work on a Mercury. We could talk if it was on say an El Camino, but preferably a 70s Elky

Default 1985 Ford LTD Crown Victoria

Beautiful Brown Paint. Was someones play toy.

I wonder what they used as the trim on the trunk. It does not look like the factory piece.

I like what they've done there. I think I could live without the tires, but everything else I'm good with. Wonder why a 289? I would have gone for the 351 if I were doing a carb'd engine swap.

Good grief, are people actually paying those prices? My '89 CV was appraised at $7K after I painted it (which I think is a BS amount). Maybe I should list it for $10K.

says 302 on the air cleaner. I doubt its really a 289, but honestly without checking the casting number on the block its pretty hard to tell. Considering you're looking at about a 5 year window of engines vs better than 30 years it doesn't make any sense to pay the premium those go for.

I never understood 289 swaps, except for originality sake.

That's definitely a 5V paint code, what my paint SHOULD look like, vs the overly maroon el cheapo job it has now

Anything Steelsides is selling is too high in my book. There are three big groups that are buying many older cars and holding them for ransom. I wonder if they are an individual or venture capital. Still, free enterprise and all.

I wonder if they will replace the gas cylinder lifts on my 89 Lincoln ? Would they be too stiff for an aluminum hood ?

Good question on the stiffness. I have no clue about them bolting up but lean towards no. They are pretty complex around the fender, cowl area.
