the corroded front license plate bracket on my Mark was NOS at some dealership in Georgia. had oil stains on it too. Took a damn long time to clean that thing off... but it looked good after about 3 hours of cleaning.
That'd be funny if that rusty skin really was NOS. Don't I see evidence of cuts and crimp-edge tweakage, though?
It is NOS 100%. That is the color the NOS pieces came in back then. The NOS door I purchased was the same black sealer. You would be surprised how dinged up something can get being moved around in an uncaring manner for 25 years. No way can the skin remain unharmed because the metal on the sides of the skin is meant to fold over onto the door shell. (I have witnessed first hand a body man installing a door skin on a 65 Mustang before and even their new piece of metal wasn't perfect) The rust is normal too because that stuff just sat on the floor always. On the bright side the rust is not through the other side.
