    My '91 Grand Marquis

I bought this car September 13th 2008 for $900 to replace my trusty, but extremely rusty 92 Crown Vic. When I bought it it had 82K on and really didn't need that much. I took out the broken ugly eBay dvd player and replaced it with an older, but still nice pioneer premiere head unit that I got for free out of my cousins old escort. I also replaced the stock 6.5s with some pioneer ones out of the escort. The front rotors were ridiculously warped so I replaced them and the pads first thing. I also changed the oil and put in a new air filter. After a quick vacuming and quick wash it didn't look half bad.

The car had a viper alarm system put in with all the bells and whistles imaginable. The guy had a receipt for over $800 for the crap!

I removed some of the not needed stuff, like a back up battery powered speaker.

    Extremely dirty bone stock lopo.

    Corroded turbines with whitewalls

Interior quickly cleaned and radio and speakers in.

Last day my 92 was on the road

Next I replaced the coil, cap and rotor with some msd pieces and changed out the plug wires to some 9mm frpp ones. Also painted the 5.0 plate.

Threw on some snow tires. Rears are brand new Mastercraft Glacier Grip 2s. They are absolutely amazing. Even with my open diff I was able to plow through the snow with little problem. Fronts were some free dunlops that were ok at best.

I also swapped out the stock 6x9s with some new pioneers.

I started to do some body work and stop the damage of nearly 20 buffalo winters

I stopped cheaping out and bought some por-15. I did the whole back panel as a first test, then covered it with spray on truck bed lining. Stuff works great, and no rust has yet to creep back up behind the taillights. No after pics though.

While i was rocking my snows I decided to try and clean up my corroded turbines. I sanded each ones lip by hand until all the clearcoat was off. NEVER AGAIN. They still weren't, and still aren't perfect, but much better than they were.

One of my used pioneer 6.5s stared sounding pretty bad, not to mention the surrounds felt like a rock. I bought these JVC 6.5s on clearance at walmart marked down from $50 to $25. They sound MUCH better than the pioneers did, and their overall quality is also much better. Plus there good to 210w.

One of my nice pioneer 6x9s also blew so I had to replace it too. I don't know if I have bad luck with pioneer speakers, or they just suck. I don't have an amp or anything and rarely go past 1/2 volume. Maybe it was just a lemon. Walmart must have really wanted to get rid of there JVCs because they had these 6x9s marked down form $70 to $30. They actually can produce some decent bass and sound alot better than my $80 pioneers ever did.

Sometime around here I picked up my $10 HO. A friends brother just wanted the T5 behind it. It was sitting for quite some time and I know it needs to be fully rebuilt.

Also got my asspacks installed sometime around here. Late spring of 09.
This was the day I got them. A few thousand miles later they sound totally different.

I raced my friend at the local cruise night a few times. I know my car is painfully slow but it was still fun. This was with an entirely stock lopo besides the duals. I won the first time, but he got me the second time.

        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XC2WSKHyhcI

I was sick of my window needing help to move so I replaced the completely destroyed "erasers".

Next I installed a HO upper intake, throttle body, and bored egr spacer.

HO next to lopo upper intake

HO throttle body with lopo arm attached.

Stock egr plate bored out to 63mm.

        Nice and smooth.

        All nice and painted.

That pretty much is a 1 yr timeline of my car. Of course I left a few things out, well actually a lot of things but its a good summary.
A trac-loc and maybe 3.55s are next. I'd like to get that done before winter.
I've collected pretty much everything I need for an HO swap. I still need a mustang catted h-pipe but that can wait. I've collected pretty much everything I need for about $100

          87? Mustang HO -10$
HO upper intake and lower intake w/ 19 lbs injectors (and a whole lot of other crap i didn't need) - $35
          HO throttle body - $20
          63mm egr spacer - $35
          Stock mustang headers - $30
          D9S ecm - $0

Ok so it added up to $130. Thats not too bad.
I'm also going to completely rebuild the engine. But that won't be until after January. Nothing special, just a good freshening up. Pretty sure its going to need to be bored .030 over though.

So here's my HO parts pile:

I tried to polish the valve cover a little bit.

ecms out of a 92 mark VII

headers aren't in to bad of shape.

          19lbs injectors

And here are the most recent pics of the car from a few days ago.

Tires are mastercraft touring lsr's. I bought them new for my 92 in December of 07. They have a treadwear rating of 780! After countless burnouts and nearly 10K they still look they same as when I bought them. They actually don't handle that bad either.

Close up of my cleaned turbine. Not to bad...

          por 15ed the rockers.

          Engine as of now:

Sorry for the super long posts and tons of pics but I had to catch everything up to where I am now.

Sweet Merc! Loads of potential in that one.

The Body looks pretty damn factory straight as well.

                    Keep up the good werk!

There just generic $20 ones. It does sound very different now that they broke in. Plus the lack of any kind of cross over probably contributes.
                        Thanks for all the compliments.

I know Exhaust shop ripped me off. I don't care that much though since I'm just going to be buying a catted mustang H-pipe after this winter.
