When I talk to friends about the types of things people do with these cars (in terms of modding), I always mention this one as a bit of a legend. I am so glad you're still working on it and look forward to all further updates.

She’s gonna be bright when you’re done! Let me know how much top cost paint you use. I need to paint my 90 in the future. The long roof is kinda daunting.

How do you mount shocks on something like this where the air spring is living in the space the old coil lived in? Guessing they side mount on the arm, or do you just rely on the self-damping that the air springs offer anyway?

OR, do as you say and design a new mount for the original front shox on the frame and side mount on the arm. I'm going the side mount way first then may upgrade to the shockwaves if i need to.

Hi Tiggle. Will certainly do. Up to now its about 3 litres of epoxy primer (about 1/2 the car covered) and 1.5 litres of 2K grey primer (for roof only). The roof was a bit daunting, especially when welding up every single hole, but wasn't too bad really. One small step at a time.

Since removing the roof racks the roof has been quite oil canny, if you know what I mean! Certainly trying to sand the roof down with a DA is challenging when it is going up and down all the time! So I made an extra reinforcement bar about halfway down.

These are the rear airbags I have used. If anyone wants to have a go at theirs. The top mount on the chassis has to be cut out and reinforced so the bag sits flat but not too bad a job.

Will you go back and block out the roof with a nice long block and guide coat?

I dont want you to have a ripple effect in the paint on that LONG roof of yours by just using the da.
