    New guy from S. jerzey

Very cool and glad to found a site is all large Ford's of the 80's ( well mostly 80's )

I'm a proud owner of a 1988 Grand Marquis LS How I got this car is the standard classic. My Wifes bestfriend Mother is 90 yrs and gave up driving. So on Jan.3rd I got the call. Do I want the car.... Hhmm.. let me think bout it.... ahhhhhh Yes!
The car has not seen a can of wax in 10 years or more...The detent cable broke... and the "boyfriend" kept on driving the car around town. Smoked the trans.

Got the car to my Brother in-law house. There he's a freak on detailing! Now the car looks as good as the car of the month. Also its the same color!
Was then taken to the trans shop for a re-hap. I had also the oil change and a fuel filter installed. The shops owner told me it was the O.e filter!
95% of the car is OE. I'm 3rd owner to it. The last owner had all service invoice with the car. The car only done was oilchanges,battery/alterntor,muffler/tailpipe and tires. thats it. The car was purch. used at a L/M dealer in the area.

Up next......... tune up,valve cover gaskets and replace that pesky PCV valve and filter...... Hope to have Pic's on here...

    WOHOO!!

Welcome to the boards! Valve cover gaskets aren't too bad. Taking the intake off for the VC gaskets would make the PCV swap a cinch. Just be sure you get the steel core rubber valve cover gaskets- they're like a touch of Heaven.
