remove the trim around it, and start peeling. headliner needs to come out to access the nuts on the center belt trim. the rear stuff across the trunk area has little nuts inside the trunk. Side pieces I'm not sure about. Consult your shop manual, it has details for the trim installation. Not sure if those pop off or if they have slide-on rivets or what.

once you get the vinyl off then the fun begins......you gotta get all the old glue off of the roof, this is done with some acetone or lacquer thinner and a scraper......it's messy and time consuming, the solvent will mess up the paint, so protect areas you dont want to get messed up with heavy plastic and tape

The glue is the worst part of the job. I used all kinds of chemicals for strippers. Glue removers work good, acetone, and also brake fluid. If you dont mind messing up any paint it may come in contact with.

also be prepared to spend a lot of time and/or money getting the bodywork under the vinyl smooth. There's probably a few dents you never knew about, and the seam on the C pillar will be pretty much totally unfinished.

bodywork isn't a big concern if the top is getting replaced though. In stock form, it is ugly under there.

              ^Yea, what they said.

I had a royal PITA of a time getting the Fuzz/Glue off of my Merc's roof during the slicktop conversion. I got so sick of fucking with trying to dissolve and scrap all that nasty crap off, I just took a grinder and grinded all the shite off. Using a very light touch, so as not to remove any of the base metal, I got it done in 1 hour, and finally moved on.
