And now for something completely different

Hey everyone, thought I'd share my car with you. Have an 86 Grand Marquis sedan, good ole car with about 120K on it. Was my daily driver until I got hit by an uninsured driver. State Farm totalled it out but I bought it back for a couple hundred bucks, too many new parts in it and ran too well to scrap it. Paint and vinyl top were shot, road salt cancer starting in from previous life in KS, what to do? Stripped her down to the bare minimum to be street-legal in NM where I live now, to enjoy the warm sunny weather here. What do you think?

Wow. That is sweet. Like a little buggie. How does it move with those thousands of pounds shed? I really like it. Oh and Welcome!

A Dune Panther? Neat, would look better with a custom hood or something in my opinion, as well as quad headlights.

        Any other plans for it?

            That's awesome!
I bet it does move pretty good... I would get some of that rigid DIY grille mesh from the hardware store stuff for in front of your radiator though!

Thanks, guys. Yeah, it's much faster with all the dead weight removed. 27 pounds of wiring alone, not to mention all the body parts. Was planning to put something in front of the radiator eventually, it's got screen on it now to keep the bugs out of it. Would like to find a single non-powered bench seat to replace the big heavy power bucket seats, but haven't seen one in a junkyard yet.

Bucket seats from an 80's police box would fit the buggy theme, if you can find them

Wow! You weren't exaggerating with that thread title, lol.

I would never have recognized what it once was at first glance, until I saw that B-Pillar, that gives it away to me everytime. In a strange way I kinda like it. Looks like the beginnings of an off-road truck now. Would never pass inspection like that here though.

                        +rep for creativity.

I hope the tranny cooler is secured. punching a hole in that bend that's resting against the lower tie bar would suck.

awesome idea though. If you can't beat it... jeep it :p

edit: on second glance I see the rubber chock and bracket. disregard.

                            awesome funmobile

Thats pretty cool. I could see doing something like that for a woods buggy, though it wouldn't be remotely legal here.
