In CT, all state police cars are unmarked; if you get stopped by a state trooper, the car will definitely be unmarked.

Most of them have light bars (some do not), but none of them are lettered with 'State Police', etc.

The cars are all pretty much silver now (Chargers are usually black), but in the past, state cars were grey, blue, silver, green, maroon, etc. There was no rhyme or reason.

Most officers won't risk the liability of making a traffic stop in their personal car, and most depts. frown on that. Now, that being said, it could have been a "seized" car, that the Police Dept. is using. We used to have a Honda and a Mazda Miata unmarked that was used for traffic, as a "pace" car on the bridge over Pensacola Bay... We have had some very bad accidents on the bridge, and speed was a factor in most of them, so that is well patroled for that reason. The Miata would "pace clock" the violator, and then officers at the end of the bridge, in marked vehicles, would stop them...
If your responding to my post, what I meant by traffic detail was the WRX was sittin at a construction site with lights on (blue lights) and the officer was plain clothed directing traffic.

I have seen this, its pretty cool. I like them. However dont some of them say "Police" on the lightbars?

they're liking the "ghost" marked cars around here (for those PDs that can afford to get new vehicles). They're marked... but unless you look good or see them at night (the ghost labels are reflective), you can't tell very easily.

we have alot of them sneaky marked cars here. one of my bosses brothers is pretty high up in the force and we service their marine stuff. they have a couple nice 2009-2010 CVPIs in black. i always tell him to let me know when one goes to auction lol. iv also seen a decked out black detectives car few times. very clean car too. some times i wonder what it would be like having a whale CVPI.

Yeah. In small block letters between the lights, it says State Police.

There is a local town around here that has there cars lettered the same color as the car. They have a very faint outline of a seperate color, but its very difficult to see.

when i was in hawaii on vacation this year i noticed their cars. Hawaii state police drove anything they wanted with a blue light on the top of it. I seen Camaros(older ones), Mustangs, 4 runners, chargers, an altima and what blew my mind a G35 sedan...

Toronto (and the RCMP) use Dodge Caravans a lot as undercover/unmarkeds. I don't know if they are allowed to pull people over, but they're used in raids all the time. Very sneaky, since if you think "police" when you see a latemodel caravan, you'll drive yourself nuts.

The VT State Police have several unmarked Chargers assigned for Interstate enforcement. Don't know how many times I've seen some piece of German iron with Mass or CT plates pulled over by my local barracks silver charger. I think Colchester PD up north of Burlington has a Challenger, with the "shadow" lettering All black with black reflective lettering. Essex PD has a Suburban that the Lt. drives that was a sized drug vehicle. Says so right on the quarter panels...

In Hawaii cops can use their personal vehicles as their 'cop car'.

Lots of oncoming front ends dropping

A city near me uses chargers for their marked cars, but with only white doors and a very hard to see light bar good luck knowing it till it's too late.
