    1) its just simple plug and play right?

    2) how do I disconnect, reconnect gear selector mechanism? I did a practice run an one @ PnP and effed it all up.

    For your 2000?
    1) most likely plug and play, not sure.
    2) If it's anything like the earlier models, remove the column covers, put the car in its lowest gear. Look on the right side, you should see a cable attached to a lever thats connected to the shifter. detach the cable by lifting it over the tit. once that's done, look for a black plastic nut that's below that. Unthread it all the way and the cable will be able to be removed with the cluster. This is all assuming it's like the aeros and the late boxes.

So long as the GM is not an electronic display.

        sweet... thanks guys... useful info.

"the lowest gear" part is where I failed on my practice run.

Sorry to jump in here but could I replace the GS model standard IC with a digital one fairly easy?

It depends on your definition of "easy". It could take days depending on your experience level as you must change portions of your dash harness.
