    The era is over.

I can no longer, after 11 years, be Grand Marquis GT anymore.

    So, I won't be.

Actually if you want a diesel you don't have to get new you can get used but there is only 1 generation of jetta that I have always owned. The mk2 jetta built in the years of 85' to 92' I have owned about 19 of those cars some diesel some gas. Never left me stranded the diesels of that year are IDI so no computer to run them you can drive without a alternator if you like cause there is no computer to make the engine stop running its all mechanical injected so once that engine is running there is no stoping it no spark to cancel it out only if you stall or turn it off is the only way that engine is going to stop. Those years of Jetta are one the strongest cars out there only cause they were built right and simple.
I get 5L/100 KM on the highway 1000KM with city and highway. There not fast its only a 52hp motor but its good enough to keep up with traffic if you like they made a turbo diesel model of that 1.6 much quicker and same economy pretty much. If you want a diesel sir get a Jetta between 90' to 92' make sure the vin says "VWV" that means its made in germany all the jetta's of those years were just don't get a Golf. And those Jetta's are very simple to work on parts are very very cheap I own 2 and my 89' Merc great little cars that are cheap to run cheap to fix and rarely break. This is my 90' Jetta Flair 2 Turbo Diesel very rare. Project that is on hold for now

and this is my 92' Jetta 1.6 N/A AKA: The Little Tractor

I know these cars inside and out check online about these cars you will hear some good things about these cars.
PS: With old diesels its fun to smoke people when there riding your ass, just a though :smirk:
