    My 1983 Lincoln Mark VI

The car isn't registered in my name yet but it's almost ready to pass inspection!

    Work completed:

    new gas tank and straps
    oil-change (synthetic 5W30)
    new rear wheel cylinders
    new rear brake pads
one rim cleaned and re-installed due to leak

    Work still required:

    new e-brake cable
    new front shocks
hole inside of the rear bumper-mount needs to be patched

I purchased a set of front shocks today. Also made an appointment for next Tuesday with the welding shop I deal with

Yes, it has a 302 2bbl All the engine's top-end gaskets were replaced last summer, so that's one less thing to worry about. The rear end is a K-code (3.55 ratio) so acceleration is good. The dual-exhaust system is getting worn out but it will pass inspection this year.

How are the low end gaskets?

                      welding completed

The inner block of the rear bumper needed a patch job. A new plate was welding in place yesterday. Now all the car needs to pass mvi is front struts (I have them) and an e-brake cable.

                        more new parts

This week I picked up a t-stat and housing (gaskets included) because the age of the current parts is questionable...Next week I'm picking up the upper and lower rad hoses. The mvi is scheduled for Tuesday.

I dropped the car off Monday night. The shop is running behind schedule and hasn't got started on it yet...I really want to get the new registration and tags asap but I can't until the mvi is completed!
