Thread: 2012 Panther Nationals!

  1. #1

    Default 2012 Panther Nationals!

    Ladies and Gentlemen!

Many car clubs in years past have held grand meets. The time has come that we show the likes of the Corvette club, the Nismo gang, the Subaru kids....

That the body on frame car can not only be awesome, but that we can represent with some amazing machinery of our own.

Starting on June 15, 2012, and ending on June 17, myself and a hard-core group of Panther enthusiasts would like to welcome you all to 2012 Panther Nationals, to be held at the Outback Roadhouse, right on the strip in downtown Branson, Missouri!

Lodging has been secured at the rate of $59 a night for a queen bed double room. On the grounds is an award winning restaurant, a pub, and we will have a cordoned off section reserved exclusively for Panther parking only!

Also included in the price of the hotel room are some other goodies that are included:

A designated area to hold a "meet and greet" at whatever time and date Group requests.
Use of Roadhouse pavilion if Group desires to have meetings, cookouts, etc. at no extra charge.
Food and drink specials at the Outback Pub, and Outback Steak & Oyster Bar during the duration of the event.
Complimentary hot breakfast at the Roadhouse for any member of Group staying at the Roadhouse.
Banquet facility at the Outback Steak & Oyster Bar (if desired) at a discounted group rate.
Discounted tickets to select area events.

**HOTEL RESERVATIONS MUST BE MADE BY MAY 25, 2012**

Some of the events in the planning stage are a car show, a drag-strip night in nearby Rogersville, MO, and a tour from Branson to lovely Eureka Springs, AR following some very twisty and hilly roads. There's also plenty of time to sit around the cars, and shoot the breeze about whatever! There's even more surprises yet to come!

More details about when and how to register are coming!

    STAY TUNED!

sounds interesting, though it'd be a hell of a roadtrip for me personally.

Curious who the main group of people organizing this are?

I only really know about 4 significant Panther groups, the Marauder site, Crownvic.net, CrownVicBoyz(donkz mostly), and this site.

Well, the main people in this are myself, Codyy, from CVN, and admin of pantherfreedomnetwork.com, Devconk, also of the same, and FordsnFirst/Chevysinfirst of CVN and PFN, and others.

I have been on CVN since I bought my Grand Marquis in 2007, and have experience throwing Nationals-level auto meets from my time of doing it with the Mitsubishi community.

I'm not real sure how else to answer your question....if you have specific questions, I would be happy to answer them as best I can.

    Thanks!
    Tim

EDIT: I should also mention...I signed up here a while back, and never posted anything. However, with this meet, I would like for it to be a Panther Community-wide gathering, and as such, I have posted this exact same announcement on this site, CVN, Panther Freedom Network, and CVPI.ORG.

HHonestly holding something like this would be better suited
In Columbus oh where they hold the goodguys show or in Carlisle PA
Seeing as majority of panther owners are on the east coast from what I have seen
And not that it's relevant but didn't Cody have some issues on cvn awhile back?

Oh, no, I didn't take it that way. I just wanted to give you some background on me, since I'm not as well known here as other places.

I had thought of that, however, we decided that the geological center would be better for Panther owners on the west coast to be able to partake in the event as well. Also, Branson has stuff for your significant other to enjoy as well. We've tried to make this an enjoyable experience for all who attend!

Guys, it's over six months away.....plenty of time to plan, save, and execute! That's a lot of why I announced it as early as I did. People need time to prepare for these things!

Ok the idea is sound how ever I think perhaps that an east coast nationals would be a good idea and a westcoast nationals and then one big meet in the middle every couple of years meet in the middle kind of thing might be doable

Actually, there needs to be more like a Michigan nationals. Do you know how hard it is to get Michigan guys together for a meet? Crazy Detroiters won't leave the metro area, and the rest of us have lives.

    Ladies, and Gentlemen.

We have an itinerary and MOST of the details for you!

We'll start with the lodging. A webpage with an online reservation system has been set up for your convenience! It can accessed here:

    2012 Panther Nationals Lodging

As for what's to do? Here's our loose itinerary:

    **NOTHING IS MANDATORY**

    FRIDAY, 15 JUNE

    Arrive, and meet and greet.
5 (ish) PM - Head to Ozark Raceway Park for Test and Tune Session. $10 to spectate, and $15 to race. Gates open at 6, lights on at 7, and all the runs you can click off till midnight!

Ozark Raceway Park Test and Tune Info
Directions from Outback To Ozark Raceway

    SATURDAY, 16 JUNE
We are considering an early morning junkyard run, just in case folks want to see about scoring parts that others did not bring.
    Car Show
BBQ Cook out at the Party Pavilion (This is up in the air - attendees will help call this shot!)
There will be later evening activities, go karting, Branson shows, shopping, that's sort of flexible...I'm sure some folks will want to simply sit in the parking lot and drink, and that is fine too, we have a nice bar on location.

    SUNDAY, 17 JUNE
11 (ish) AM Ride to Eureka Springs, AR for lunch, and sightseeing.

We're also possibly thinking of working in a little time to help others with any mechanical issues that may pop up, or those that want to tackle a LIGHT project (no engine swaps or blower installs, please) and have questions, or want some guidance.

We, as organizers, have also put together a little scavenger hunt for the trip along the way, to help ease the boredom of all those miles!

One tip: I would recommend bringing an FRS/GMRS handheld radio. The organizers will be able to be found on channel 4, subchannel 6. (4.6 - should be easy to remember!)

So, who's in? I know of two off the top of my head......

Just as a note......I did manage to get the deadline to reserve your hotel pushed out to JUNE 8.

Also, Southwest is now flying into Branson if you prefer to do that!

Just worked it out with the track.....

We will have our own pit area, and I have been advised that we should show up early to set up our area, and click off a few runs before the track opens up for general use!
