    Default Aero 302 swap.

Is a 302 fairly straight forward swap in a early 92 aero? Will a underhood harness from 90 TC fit right in?

Search around for threads by username: Lincolnmania.

He has completed the swap into a 93 Grand Marquis and his threads may hold answers for you. Another active member also has completed a similar swap and will surely chime in.

Its not really a matter of the harness "fitting"... no it does not hook right up to existing harnesses in the aero, but its only a handful of wires that need to be franken-spliced to make it run, and a few more to get everything else working.
As long as you have a 'bastard-block' car, a 5.0 will bolt up to the AODE.
I think the thread you need to look for is in the "Scotts automotive" forum section

his was a 92 grand marquis with the bastard block (4.6 with the mechanical AOD that still used the small block bolt pattern that the older 302 uses)

302 is a direct bolt in, but the wiring I think needs to come from a box panther or you get to run quite a bit of spaghetti and wrap it up afterwards. also depends on what engine computer you're planning to use as to whether you'll be adding wires to a specific harness or not.

Lincolnmania's 92 GM hauls ass too.

Yeah. Technically you need a different driveshaft, something about the trans mount putting the transmission further forward than a 302 powered car. The driveshaft in Scott's 92 is a tad bit long. An AODE aero driveshaft would be desired there. Or a 4r70 aero or whale driveshaft with a different slip yoke.
