    Wide tires

Im sure it's been asked before but what is the widest tire that'll fit on a 15" stock turbine wheel? I have some 275/60-15 on the back with 235/70s on the front right now with goofy aftermarket wheels. Any advice? Thanks!

i would'nt go bigger than a 245/60/15's on turbines, they are only 6.5" wide

2006 Lincoln Town Car Signature. Stock for now
1989 Ford F-250 4x4 much much more to come, sefi converted so far.
1986 Toyota pickup with LSC wheels and 225/60/16 tires.
2008 Hyundai Elantra future Revcon toad
1987 TriBurner and 1986 Alaska stokers keeping me warm. (and some pesky oil heat)

The stock 215/70 really isn't bad on stock wheels, you don't want them to be super wide because then they flex a lot on turns. Mine stay fairly stable on turns, and if I don't buy aftermarket wheels i'm gonna stay with this size, also due to them being cheaper. Btw what are these goofy wheels you have and what size?

yeah I don't think you'd actually benefit in terms of grip past 235 on a stock wheel. maybe 245 (I bow to Scott's experience). The sidewall is already overly big and soft on these cars. Making it try to support tread that's on the outside of the beads doesn't help matters.

I'm not really too concerned with the stability. I just think a fat tire looks tough. I think the wheels on it are 15x8. I'll try to find a picture of them

Where you located? If the wheels aren't too far away or too offensive I may take them off your hands, I can even give you my lacy spoke wheels.

Well I got the turbines done and they don't have the offset that I hoped for. So it's a bummer
