    H pipe

Ok, I have an 83 GM with the 302 and it has the y pipe setup. I'd like to go off road h pipe but leave the original manifolds for now. Will an aftermarket for an 83 mustang work or is there a place that actually sells such an animal specifically for my car?
    Thanx

Nope. You have to use factory panther parts, or mustang parts unfortunately.

An off road mustang h pipe should fit though, shouldn't it? It seems like the connecting pipe is longer on the stock h pipe for the grand marquis.

the problem is, the mustang H-pipe is a bigger diameter of pipe. so, the flanges wont mount up right.

Well, headers would fix that. My concern with that however is that the merc is all original and I know that changing much at all requires getting rid of cfi which I'm not exactly ready to do yet. So will a set of headers work with the original heads and if so will headers change the flow enough to cause problems with the cfi?

if you go with mustang shorty headers, then your set. you would be doing more good than bad, interms of performance aswell. so yes, they will work good with CFI.

you have to use mustang or mark7 headers to use the mustang off road pipe.......if you want to retain the cast iron manifolds you will need a stock replacement h pipe for the grand marquis
