    New Shock Failure?

Well, I got the shock absorbers replaced on the car a month ago, and I managed to have the front left one burst.

Short of the mechanic messing up the installation, what could cause it to fail so soon?

Just defective. Did the shaft blow out? What brand?

I installed one and the next day it was leaking oil. Replaced it with the same one and its been fine for the last 3 years.

pretty much a bum one. Had that happen on my Lincoln. Haven't had any issue with the replacement under warranty.
